NSD in full swing at Lets Scrap

Hi friends - hope all the moms are having a great Mothers Day!! Down here in South Africa is is nearly over!! Hope you all had a great NSD.  Over at Lets Scrap NSD activities are in full swing. We have some amazing challenges running as well as an amazing sketch by our own talented Cheri O'Neill. All challenges run until 31st May except for the sketch. LO's using the sketch must be completed by the 16th May - and the SURPRISE we will have another awesome sketch!! This is the first sketch.

This is my LO using Cheri's sketch as my inspiration.

This photo was taken on Easter Sunday when Dorian and Claudia had their easter egg hunt. I love the photo they are such cutey pies!!

Another great challenge over at Lets Scrap is challenge NSD2011#1 hosted by Rene .
Rene set a recipe challenge.
  • Use a Lets Scrap sketch
  • Use two photographs
  • Use a border punch
I had these two photos of Claudia taken when she was a month old and I have wanted to scrap them for ages. My friend Betty Anne at Lets Scrap is being blessed with two new grand children this year. So there is a lot of "baby talk" and beautiful baby LO's being done at the moment and this got my mojo going to finally scrap these two pictures.

It's hard to believe that we have recently celebrated her third birtday!!

Anyway what you need to do now is go on over to Lets Scrap and check out the cool challenges. There is an awesome card challenge for those of you who prefer card making and a whole pile of amazing scrapping challenges. Enjoy the rest of your Mothers Day and have a blessed week.

Back on Lets Scrap DT WoooHooo

Hi Everyone - it's really good to be doing another blog post. I have had a bit of a break - between my new job (which is now already two and a half months old) and moving home - I have just been man down!! I am now more organised ad into a routine that sort of works - so hopefully I'll be back to blogging every day again!!!!

A real exciting bit of news for me on Friday night was that I had made the DT at Lets Scrap. I am so excited and looking forward to working with a great bunch of creative gals!!!!

I want to share a real sweet LO of my sweet grand daughter Claudia that I did earlier this month using one of Cheri's sketches over at Lets Scrap . These photos were taken last year in October and I knew I had to scrap them - but was just waiting for the right opportunity. This sketch was perfect.

This is my LO using this cool sketch as inspiration!!

Don't you think she has the cutest face (biased opinion obviously) - but I do love the LO. The Patterned papers are all from Breezy Designs.

Hope you have all had a great Easter - until next time take care!! Thanks for looking!!!!!!!!!

I DO {NOT}

Happy Monday everyone!!! I have a sweet LO to share with you today! Kathy over at Lets Scrap has an amazing challenge going this week. You need to go on over and check out Challenge 85!!! The theme of the challenge is texture and Kathy has give a few requirements of introducing texture to your LO.

My niece Claire took some beautiful photos of her cute kiddos playing dress up. I have scrapped a page of Meegan a few weeks back and decided to use these pics of her dressed up in her mom's wedding dress.

We had loads of choices to make from a list that Kathy gave us. I used most of the items. We had to use paint and make at least one embellishment. I made all my flowers.

I also used my Slice machine to cut out the heart and butterfly.

Don't you just love the pic of sweet Meegan sitting in the chair looking like a jilted bride!!!! I had so much fun with this challenge.

Go on over to Lets Scrap and check out Kathy's challenge!!

Till next time take care.

Sketch 2-8 at Frosted Designs

Wow!!! Did I enjoy my weekend. I once again appreciate my weekend. When I was not working I did not understand why the family would be hanging for the weekend ~ but one week back at work and I understand all over again!!!!

There is a real awesome sketch over at Frosted Designs. I loved the sketch because it allowed you to be as creative or as plain as you liked. Thanks fern for a great sketch!!!!!! Here is the sketch to use for inspiration!

I used pics of Claudia (surprise, surprise). I have entered a "Scrap your Stash" group and so I am determined to make a huge dent in my stash before I buy anything new.!!! I used some Bo Bunny paper that I have had in my stash for ages. Luckily it was just right for the color in the pics. This is my LO

I sprayed Glimmer Mist on the doily and used a Martha Stewart border punch for the title card! Flowers, brads and photo corners are all things I have had in my stash forever!!

That's it for this week. Hope you have a great week ahead!!

Who Loves You Baby

Hi Everyone. I am doing this post and then heading straight for my bed. Tomorrow I start my new job and I need my beauty sleep!!!!! I am so excited, I feel like a kid starting first day of school.......hehe.

I am entering this LO in two challenges. I don't often do that but here goes. The first challenge is for Sketchy Thursdays who provided this real cute sketch

The second is for the Fabulous Friday challenge over at Frosted Designs where we had to use the word LOVE on our LO's.

I have used some pics that were taken of Dorian and I at his pre-school graduation last year. The two blue flowers are handmade to match up with the papers I used. I so enjoyed making them, that I have decided that I am going to make a whole bunch of flowers using my scraps!!! Here is what my LO looks like!!

The pattern papers are from a South African range of papers called Scrap Sheets. I am way chuffed with the way it has turned out.

Thanks for looking. I am off to bed. Will catch up with you again soon.

Have a happy new week.

A Walk on the Wild Side

Happy day ~ I am now employed again!!!! How awesome is that. I start work on Monday 14th. So today I have been doing the happy dance!! Just can't stop twirling.........

The latest sketch over at  Lets Scrap is a real CHALLENGE!!!! First off let me show you what is up for grabs for a randomly drawn lucky scrapper

What a fantastic prize!!!! NOW here is the sketch

This sketch was a real challenge. I wanted to use more of our holiday pictures. I chose the pictures we took on one of our many visits to the Addo Elephant Park. We love it there and spend loads of time driving through the National Park trying to spot game and birds.
On this day we were real lucky and spotted lions, elephants, buffalo and loads of antelope and sweet little creatures. I used all the little signs from the souvenir map as my embellishments. I love the way this LO has turned out!!!

That's it for today. Go on over to Lets Scrap and take a look at all the fun stuff going on. There are still a few days left to finish off some blog hop challenges ~ there are also two new awesome groups that have been started.
So off you go now ~ go take a look ~ you won't be sorry!!!!! LOL

Scrap Friendzy Blog Hop

Second post for the day. Not often that happens, but I have just found out about this cool Blog Hop over at Scrap Friendzy . It starts today and they are also having a fun crop starting Friday. HERE  is where you need to go.

Why not hop on over and join in the fun!!!!!!!

Just add Water

Hello everyone. Happy hump day. Really hot and sticky today, so scrapping is the best thing to do. The sun is so hot outdoors that even the gardening is waiting for later on when it is a bit cooler. This week's sketch over at Sketch Thursdays looks like this

I have some really sweet pics of Claudia in the pool over Christmas, so I decided to do a fun summer layout. This is how it turned out!!

I love the fun summer feeling to to this LO. That's probably my efforts for the day. I have some paperwork that needs my attention, so no scrapping until tomorrow. By the way I am going for a job interview tomorrow, so please hold thumbs for me.

Till next time

Better late than Never

Hi everyone. I have had a week from hell, but God is good and in turn we have been very blessed. The result of my awful week means that I totally forgot to post my LO for the Lets Scrap sketch. We have another amazing sponsor this week ~ this is what one lucky randomly drawn winner will win on Wednesday.

The sketch was used as the entry for the new DT and so this was their first reveal. There is some amazing talent, so go on over to Lets Scrap an get some awesome scrappy inspiration. This is what the sketch looks like

I have loads of really cool holiday photos to scrap and so did my first December holiday page with this sketch.  We went to this tiny rural village called Bathurst. Bathurst is where Queen pineapples are grown in the Eastern Cape in South Africa. We visited the pineapple museum ( the photo is the huge pineapple), then we went to the Village Green and had lunch. It was an amazing afternoon. There was a band called The Silver Creek Mountain Band and they played the best mellow music!! We sat and had a beer and some real good food and laughed a lot. What wonderful memories I have of that day. Here is my LO.

How awesome is that HUGE pineapple!!!! The old church is right next to the Village Green at the Bathurst Arms. Good times!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for looking!!! Hope you have a wonderful new week!!

Till next time, Hugs

Fabulous Friday at Frosted designs

Well another fabulous Challenge over at Frosted Designs . The Fabulous Friday challenges are always such fun and this week was no exception. Challenge was to create something with a MONOCHROMATIC scheme. I have made it my goal to do more cards this year and so when the challenge is not specific to a LO, I have decided that I will make a card. here is my card

I loved the way this card turned out. It is very basic but I still like it.

Head on over to Frosted Designs and take a look at the cool stuff going on there!!!

Thanks for looking.

Sketchy Thursday 1.27

Hi everyone. Hope all those who are experiencing bad weather conditions are keeping themselves safe!!!

I saw the Sketchy Thursday 1.27 sketch on Facebook and thought I would give it a go. The sketch Looked like this

My niece Claire took some amazing pics of her kiddies playing dress up. I loved these two of Meegan in her high heels. She just looked too darn cute.

So sweet. The joke of it is that she is the biggest tomboy and loves nothing more than a rough and tumble with her older brother.

Thanks for looking happy day!

The last of the Resolutions Completed

YAAAAAYYYY!!! I finished all the resolutions over at the Lets Scrap Hoppy New Year Blog Hop. And did I have loads of fun doing it.
I set off with the intention of not buying anything new by way of scrapping stash and not printing any new pics. Well I did not do too bad at all. I only printed one set of "new " pics and only bought paper for one resolution. So all and all, I am pretty happy with myself. Let me show you the last three resolutions that I completed.

Resolution Number 13

Dawn's challenge was a cardstock only challenge. No patterned paper allowed. Everyone seemed to be embossing their paper - problem is I don't own any type of embossing tool. I put the thinking cap on and remember that somewhere long ago someone had told me about using your stamps with bleach. So I did that on one sheet of pink cardstock and then stamped and used embossing powder on the other. I had photos that I had taken of Claudia ages ago and the pink worked fine. I made my flowers from pink and brown cardstock!! I love the finished product~~~~

Resolution Number 14

What a cool challenge Tracey had worked out. The choice was either a card or a LO using 1 piece of ribbon or lace, 2 patterned papers, 3 flowers and 4 bling.
I don't normally enjoy cards as much as scrap booking and  think it has something to do with working on a smaller scale. Anyway I took a bash at the card and I love it.

Resolution Number 15

The last resolution was hosted by Amy and was a color challenge. The colors were teal, yellow and grey/silver and somewhere on your LO the word "happy" had to be included.
I had previously completed a double page LO with photos of Warrick and Kerry - Kerry claimed it to put in a frame!!!! So I had one of the photos left and it sort of worked with the colors. This is the resolution I ended up buying paper for.

I completed the LO - loaded it in the gallery AND THEN realised I had forgotten poor old "happy"....... So I quickly stamped Happy in the corner and reloaded my LO. Lesson learnt READ THE INSTRUCTIONS PROPERLY!!!!!

So that brings my Blog Hop Resolutions to an end!! Best I get stuck into some DT LO's now....hehe. Don't forget that the BLOG HOP only finishes on the 14th February. So you still have plenty of time to visit Lets Scrap and stand a chance of winning some fab prizes.

Well that's it for January - how scary is that!!!

Thanks for taking a look - feel free to leave me a comment please.

Some more completed resolutions!

Well.what fun I have had doing the Blog Hop Resolutions over at Lets Scrap. If you have not been over there to take a look at what is going on ~ you need to visit right now!!! There are loads of prizes to be won whether you are a scrapper or a card maker. Go on over and take a look!!
Here are some more completed resolutions.

Resolution Number 10

Megan set a challenge to use trash from around your house as something on your LO. This was difficult for me, because I use a lot of old stuff to scrap normally, I used the packaging from some Prima flowers to make my photo corner!
My photo is all the cousins taken about sixteen years ago. There are not many photos of all the cousins together. That makes this one quite special!!!

Resolution Number 11

Wendy set a challenge that said use blue, white and silver. My daughter in law has a birthday at the end of February so I made her this birthday card. I am real chuffed at how it turned out. I think Denise will love it!!!!!!!

Challenge number 12

Debby set a challenge that required us to use eyelets. This is not one of my favorite things to do.Anyway I used this card sketch that lent itself to using eyelets and managed to create a half decent card ( well that is what I think anyway!!!!)

So that takes me to challenge 12 ~ three more to go. You will have to visit tomorrow to see my last three reveals.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Please leave a comment, so that I know you have stopped by. Till next time ~ take care and be safe!!!

New Sketch at Frosted Designs

Things are a bit more back to normal at last!!!!!! Frosted Designs has a new sketch for their Sketch Along Tuesday Challenge. A gorgeous sketch that you can do so much with.

I found a whole bunch of photos of my mom when I was going through her stuff last year when she passed away. I have slowly but surely been putting together a heritage album. This is a photo of my mom and two of her sisters taken in the early 1950's. This is how my LO turned out.

The photo is really poor quality so I did not want to put too much on the page in case the photo was over powered. Anyway go on over to Frosted Designs and check out there cool site. They have a Friday challenge every week and a tutorial on A Sunday!!!

Till next time ~ thanks for looking!!!

Time for a New Sketch at Lets Scrap

WOW!! How hectic has my life been over the last week or so!. Sadly my last remaining uncle passed away. He lived in Pietermaritzburg, so we travelled to his funeral on Friday (about 500 kilometres). It was a sad occasion but good to see my cousins again and my one remaining aunt.

It is also time for our puppies to leave and that has also been sad. They are so cute and I just wish that I could keep all of them ~ not going to happen!!! My sweet husband has agreed that I can keep one of them, so I have a new baby called Bella.

There is still so much going on over at Lets Scrap . The blog hop is in full swing and boy oh boy are there some creative people out there!!!! We also still have the Julie Bonner Sketch competition running. Only a few days left to enter that. Then we have our last sketch for January. How scary is that??? The random draw prize that is up for grabs looks like this

This is the cool sketch that we got to work with

I loved working with the sketch. Used some photos I had of Dorian opening his birthday presents. Just check out the absolute delight on that dirty little face.

The pattern papers from Bella Boulevard Super Stud range just fitted in so well with the colors of Dorian's clothes. The star die cuts were all cut with a Slice machine. The rub-ons are from Kaisercraft and the small banner flags are from a sticker sheet from Echo Park. I love the way this turned out.

We have announced the new DT over at Lets Scrap so make sure you don't miss their first reveal next week!

Thanks for looking. Please leave a comment when you visit!!

More Blog Hop Resolutions

Hi all. Things are going a bit rough at the moment on the personal front and so my crafty friends are keeping me going. Thank goodness for the blog hop over at Lets Scrap . It keeps my mind active and helps me to relax. I have completed a few more resolutions!!!

Resolution #6 hosted by Roulien . Roulien has a valentine themed resolution. Go on over to her blog and check it out!! Here is my take on her challenge ~ I so suck at cards - but hey try and you might get lucky!!!

So that is what I came up with!!!!

Resolution # 7 is hosted by Kristie . Kristie wants a LO to include a banner! I have tried not to print any new pics for this blog hop and I had these pics of Warrick and Kerry when they were still real young! Don't have many photos of them when they were small so these are special

How cute are these photos. They are the same age as what the grand babies are now. How scary is that!!!!

I am Resolution #8 ~ so next is Mandy . Mandy has a real fun challenge. It is all about laughing and fun!! My photos are awful ~ but they were such fun!!! Take a look!!!!

How awful are those pics, but I will always remember the funny side!!

So that is where I am at with the blog hop. Please visit Lets Scrap and check out the fun challenges. The hop only finishes off on the 14th February. You still have loads of time!!!

Thanks for looking. Until next time ~ keep safe!!!

Some more Resolutions From the Hoppy New Year Blog Hop

Well are we having loads of fun over at Lets Scrap . Our Blog Hop is HOPPING. The gallery has never been so busy with members loading their "resolutions". If you want to join in the fun you still have loads of time. We have fifteen amazing "resolutions" that you need to complete and you have until the 14th February to do it.

Each Blog host also has a fun RAK to give away, so even if you don't have time to finish all 15 Challenges ~ try your luck on some of the individual ones.

I want to share some of my LO's that I have completed so far. Resolution #3 hosted by Beth . Beth's challenge was to use at least three patterned papers and to include some form of stitching on your LO. This is how mine turned out

My challenge to myself for this Blog Hop was not to print any new photos or buy any new products. So far so good! This is a photo my niece (and God child) Claire sent me of her sweet family. I love the way this LO has turned out.

Resolution #4 hosted by Cori . Cori's challenge was to create a LO that had to have a list on it! I had beautiful photos of my sweet doggy babies. I used a pic of Jorge our little male Pekingese. Here it is!!!

Has he not got the sweetest face????? Gotta love him!!!

Resolution #5 hosted by Carolina . Carolina wanted us to create a LO and not open a new pack of anything. Well I don't think there is a scrapper among us who does not have a load of odds and ends about. So this challenge was real cool. Helped to use up some of the old stash!!! I used pics of my two grandchildren and their little friends who were supposed to be going to sleep Hahaha.

I love this LO. The pics are so cute.....look at those naughty faces!!!!!

Well for now that is it. Be sure to check in again as I work my way through the Resolutions. If you want to join in the fun go on over to Lets Scrap and join us.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time ~ take care.

First Two Resolutions Completed

How exciting ~ our Blog Hop has started over at Lets Scrap and my word is there a lot of activity going on over there. YOU NEED TO GO RIGHT ON OVER AND TAKE A LOOK!!!!!!!

I have looked through all the challenges and boy oh boy there are some real cool "resolutions" to work on. I must admit to something ~ I battle with a mind that tends to wander and is sometimes not very organised ha, so I have decided to do this systematically and work through the challenges in the order that they appear ~ real boring hey!!!! but I will be so confused if I don't!!!!!

My LO for Resolution#1 which is a scrap lift challenge looks like this:

I am trying to go through this Blog Hop without buying anything new and using photos that I already have printed. I had this photo printed in 2007 when my daughter graduated from University. I was at my illest and so don't really like the pic. But I decided to scrap it today!!! Step in the right direction Heehee.

Resolution#2 which is a color challenge looks like this:

This is a photo that I printed to do a LO a while ago and then never got to do it. It is my daughter Kerry with grand daughter Claudia. They are so similar in nature that I sometimes feel sorry for my son, because Kerry has always been so strong willed and my son is going to have to go through the same thing with Claudia.

Well that it for today. Thanks for looking, hop on over to Lets Scrap and JOIN IN THE FUN!!!!!!

Hugs
Bev
