Ready for the Week Ahead

Deb over at Soul Scrappers set a lovely challenge to use black and white photos and a "zip code". I had just completed a LO with those exact requirements using a sketch from Sassy lil' Sketches and so I have used the same LO for both challenges.

What a lovely weekend we have had. Spent the weekend with my niece in Lydenburg. We had a relaxing weekend and our rugby team won! What more could a girl want??? I need to share some photos with you of the hailstorm that we got caught in this afternoon on our way home from Lydenburg. We were so lucky because we drove up to the petrol station to fill the car and then the hail started bucketing down. We would have had to pull off the road if we had not gone into the Petrol Garage. Take a look at these.

It was real scary, but thank goodness we were safe and sound.

Have a good week and a good start to November. Thanks for visiting and please leave a comment so that I know you have passed by!!

Lotsa love
Bev

What a beautiful View

I am doing this post from the verandah at my niece's house in Lydenburg. The view is amazing and it just reminds me what a beautiful country we live in.
I saw this lovely sketch at  Sassy Lil' Sketches .

I loved the sketch and created this LO using photos of me when I was eight months old.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Lotsa love

Some more LO'S I've completed

Had some real fun scrapping time the past few days. I managed to eventually complete a LO of Dorian's birthday which happened in August!!! I used this weeks sketch from Cheri at Lets Scrap again. This is the LO.

The party was at Barefoot Days and the children had so much fun. The ran around and played games the whole afternoon.

My next project was this weeks DT Challenge at Lets Scrap. Karien set a really sweet challenge. We had to create a shaped card. I know so many people who are having babies at the moment so decided to make a baby shower gift tag.

My last project for today was a sketch challenge over at Soul Scrappers. Here is the sketch.

This is my take on the sketch.

Another LO done from Dorian's birthday photos.

We are off to Lydenburg for the weekend to visit Claire and Morne. Have a great weekend everyone.
Thank you for visiting my blog. Comments are welcome and if you are not already a follower I would love for you to become one.

The New Sketch Reveal at Lets Scrap

Well it's that time of the week again when we get a new sketch from Cheri at Lets Scrap. This weeks sketch is so versatile, and has space for loads of photos or better still a CD envelope to hold all the photos of an event.

Here is the LO that I created using the sketch. I decided to do a wedding page using photos of my nephew and his beautiful bride. Thank you Kyran and Nicole for being such a good looking couple. The photos after all are always the most important part of any scrapping LO.

Here are some close ups of the LO.

Flowers are from Prima. Paper is water distressed and butterfly cut with Slice machine.
I used white lace and coloured it with Glimmer Mist. I then glued some pearls to the top of the lace.

Thank you for visiting. Have a good day. If you have the time, comments are always appreciated!

HAPPY MONDAY

Last Monday in October. How scary is that. This year has flown by. Just back from the laziest weekend I have had in a very long time. We went camping for the weekend and it was so hot 36 degrees C at 10 in the morning (97 deg F) that we literally just vegged out in the shade the whole of Saturday. We laughed a lot (good for the soul), we ate a lot, and we enjoyed some white wine! Today it is back to reality and thank goodness, cooler weather.

Last Wednesday Lets Scrap revealed their once a month card sketch. Here are my two cards that I have created.

Anniversary Card

Birthday Card

Hope you have a great week. Thank you for the visit. If you are not yet a follower, it would be a pleasure to welcome you as one!

My Layout for Megan's Challenge on Lets Scrap

The Design Team challenge over at Lets Scrap this week was set by Megan. Here is my layout for the challenge. Photos were taken on our holiday this year in May. We had a great time. Visited the Cultural village ~ fascinating to listen to all the customs and beliefs of the Shangaan tribe.

I have managed to produce the most amazing roses this spring. Tried to take some pics so I could show them off. Not sure if the pics do them any justice but here they are anyway.

The bush is full and it looks beautiful.

We are off to the bush tomorrow. We are going camping with some good friends. I can't wait just to relax and have the night sounds and starry skies that normally accompany a bush visit. As normal I will end up taking loads of photos and put myself under more pressure to get them all scrapped. I guess that is a good kind of pressure to be under.

Enjoy your weekend and thanks for taking the time to visit my blog.

EXCITEMENT IN THE McDONALD HOUSE

Just had to share this with you. I made the DT at Lets Scrap. Received an e-mail yesterday to confirm that I was now a member of the new DT. Our term runs November through January and I am so excited to get started. The girls over at Lets Scrap are great. The sketches and challenges are awesome and there is always a friendly word from someone. Can't wait to post my first DT challenge.
Have a great day!!

This is the latest Lets Scrap sketch. I absolutely love this sketch and know that I will definitely use it again. Cheri has an amazing ability to just keep on coming up with these stunning sketches.

This is my LO based on the sketch. The photos are Claudia playing in muddy water. This is when she is happiest.

I love the way this LO has turned out. This is my first attempt at a banner and I am proud of myself for getting it to look Like I know what I'm doing ......Heehee.

We took Claudia on a picnic yesterday. We had so much fun, but my word two year olds are HIGH MAINTENANCE. The funniest is everytime she doesn't get what she wants she says "I'm tired". The minute you say OK fine lie down on the blanket and have a snooze she decides she is fine. Here are a few pics of her at "her" picnic.

Going for a walk in search of a duck.

Having a hissy fit because she could not get her own way!

Trying to catch butterflies!
Having a quiet moment by herself.
I am going to spend the rest of my day scrapping and relaxing, preparing for work tomorrow. Hope you have a peaceful day and thanks for having a look.

Have a blessed week.

At Last I Can Scrap for a While

These last few weeks have been hectic. I managed to find a temp job and I did not realise what a huge adjustment working full day would be. Anyway I was very blessed and it lasted for four weeks. I am now back at home full day, but if something else comes along I will definitely jump at it.

I am so excited because I was the lucky winner of the draw over at Brittannahlee Stamp and Scrap. Thank you so much guys!!

Don't forget that Lets Scrap DT call closes on 17th October. Go on over and have a look at the sketch. It is a really cool sketch.

This is my LO for Cheri's Sketch at Lets Scrap. These are some more pics of our weekend away at Mabalingwe. All the tiny visitors we had. The poor little bush pig got chased away with the broom.

This LO was also done for Colorful Creations. This one was done for the Girls, Girls, Girls group. LO had to be about one of your favourite girls and had to have the word "girl" in the title. This is my niece Claire's daughter, Meegan. She is a real cutie. This photo was taken when she was about two months old.

I scrapped this LO for a challenge over at Colorful Creations. It was for the Boys, Boys, Boys Group. Layout is not allowed to have any girls in it and this one had to have at least ten buttons and a chipboard piece. Dorian used to love acting for the camera. Now I have to bribe him to get a few pix.

Enjoy your week and thank you for visiting.

ANOTHER WEEKEND COMES TO AN END!!

My very first bit of news today is that I managed to get another LO published. I sent this LO into Scrap Affairs because they were lookng for Heritage Layouts. I am so happy to have been published. Just a bit sad that my mom is not here to share the excitement with me.

This was my take on Cheri's sketch 9-29-10 at Lets Scrap. Every Wednesday Cheri Releases a new sketch and it is always amazing to see all the different LO's that are based on the same sketch.

I could not resist these photos of Meegan and so this LO was done just for fun!!!. Meegan is my niece Caire's daughter. She is so cute and Claire always manages to get such amazing pics of her.

I doubled up on this Layout and used it to enter two challengs. The first challenge was Brenda's challenge at Lets Scrap. We had to make use of Glimmer mist somewhere on our LO. I have never used Glimmer Mist before and so I learned something new. The other challenge was Tackle me Tuesday at Colorful Creations.

Thanks for stopping by and having a look at what I have created. Hope you have an amazing week.
